Meet Ashna Wagle, whose legacy and story have inspired the creation of The Ashna Project, transforming loss into positive impact.

From the time Ashna was a young girl she had a passion for learning. Science was particularly fascinating to her, and she received her degree with a B.S. in Molecular Biology and minor in Chemistry from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She also enjoyed tutoring her students and working with her peers in the lab.

While learning was one of her passions, her community meant the most to her. She spent a considerable amount of time working with non profit organizations and spending time with her friends and family.

She is remembered often for her friendly presence and ability to connect with anyone and everyone.

In her free time Ashna loved to listen to music and dance. Sharing music was one of her love languages and is what often connected her to other people. She also loved fitness and enjoyed the gym, running, and just about anything outdoors. Later in her life she found lots of peace in embroidery, painting, and other crafts.

Just before Ashna finished university, her struggle with bipolar disorder led to her death by suicide in December of 2021 at the age of 21.

Ashna has inspired the lives of so many and we are fortunate to have her as our guiding light in The Ashna Project!
